Privacy notice

This notice explains how Biruni International Tur. Hiz. A.Ş. processes your personal data under Turkish Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data (KVKK), Article 10.

Data controller

Which data we process

Identity and contact data: name, email, phone or WhatsApp number, country of residence.
Request data: the treatment you ask about and your message.
Health data you choose to share, such as diagnoses and medical reports. This is a special category of personal data.
Travel data, only if you go ahead: passport details, travel dates and companion details needed for flights, hotel and hospital registration.
Technical data: server logs kept by our hosting provider for security.

Why we process it

To answer your request and prepare your plan.
To coordinate your consultation and treatment with the contracted hospital.
To book flights, transfers and accommodation.
To meet our legal duties, including records required by the Ministry of Health's international health tourism rules and the HealthTürkiye portal, and tax and accounting duties.
To handle complaints and protect our legal rights.

Legal grounds

Identity, contact, request and travel data: necessary to set up and perform a contract with you (KVKK Art. 5/2-c), to meet our legal obligations (Art. 5/2-ç), and our legitimate interest where it does not override your rights (Art. 5/2-f).

Health data: your explicit consent (Art. 6/3), or where a law requires the processing (Art. 6/3).

Who we share it with

The contracted hospital that reviews your file and provides your treatment.
Airlines, hotels and transfer companies, only as needed for your bookings.
The Ministry of Health, USHAŞ and other authorities when the law requires it.
Service providers that host our website and email, under confidentiality obligations.
Some of these recipients may be outside Türkiye (for example an airline or your own doctor at your request). Transfers abroad are made only under the conditions in KVKK Article 9.

How we collect it

Electronically, through this website's form and email, and on paper when you sign documents with us.

How long we keep it

Only as long as the purpose and the law require. After that, data is deleted, destroyed or anonymised.

Your rights

Under KVKK Article 11 you can ask us whether your data is processed; request information about it; learn the purpose and whether it is used for that purpose; know the recipients in Türkiye and abroad; ask for correction of incomplete or wrong data; ask for deletion or destruction under Article 7; ask that correction or deletion be notified to recipients; object to a result against you that arises only from automated analysis; and claim compensation for damage caused by unlawful processing.

Send your request in writing by email to info@biruniinternational.com. We answer within 30 days, free of charge, as set out in the Communiqué on Procedures for Applications to the Data Controller.

Cookies

This website does not use cookies for analytics or advertising and loads no third-party trackers or fonts.

A.Ş. to process the health data I share in order to answer my request and coordinate my treatment, and to transfer it to the contracted hospital and, where my bookings require it, to service providers in Türkiye and abroad.

Giving consent is optional. You can withdraw it at any time by emailing info@biruniinternational.com. Withdrawal does not affect processing done before it.

Complaints

If you are not satisfied with our service, email info@biruniinternational.com with the subject "Complaint". We record every complaint, answer it and take corrective action where needed. For complaints about a health service you can also contact the Ministry of Health communication centre (SABİM) on 184 from Türkiye.
